| DCLABS Celebrates 5 years!! |
Five years!
Our initial working company name was "NetBox" , however that name was already taken so Mark and Adam chose the name "DCBOX" which was taken from Mark's company - Digivation and Adam's company Crowtech.
Unfortunately after a year of operation we needed to sort out our company structure better (Hey! We were engineers remember!). We also had suggestions from resellers that DCBOX did not describe what the server was, so we renamed the product "DCSERVER" and created two companies DCNUT and DCLABS. The name DCNUT was chosen because we could get the domain name dcnut.com and dcnut was the shortest name we could find that had DC in it.
Some how DCNUT became our main trading arm and so for the next 3 years we traded under that odd name.
In 2004 we decided to set things right, we got some investment and used the opportunity to get DCLABS as our flagship name!
Our DCSERVER product is still Australia's best Linux server and the new DCSERVER II promises some very exciting times ahead. We also have other projects (both Software and hardware) being constrcuted.
